EHS Director

About the Role:
A leading manufacturing company in Bloomington, IN is seeking an experienced EHS Director to lead all aspects of environmental, health, and safety across its facility. This is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance, driving culture change, and aligning EHS programs with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, IDEM)
• Manage all reporting, permitting, audits, and inspections
• Provide leadership and coaching to site leadership and frontline teams on EHS best practices
• Oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions
• Champion a proactive safety culture and drive employee engagement initiatives
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and corporate leadership on EHS matters
• Manage a team of EHS professionals and contractors

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• 3+ years in a leadership or site-wide EHS management role
• Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations
• Proven track record of implementing safety programs and improving performance
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• CSP, CIH, or CHMM certifications strongly preferred
• Experience with ISO 14001/45001 and behavior-based safety programs
